Attendance:

It is very important to all students and the teacher that students attend class everyweek. If a student is ill or can not make class, we ask to please call the studio to let us know. Beginning in January, recital dances are started, therefore it is important for students to be at there own class until the show in May. I reserve the right to withdraw a student from the show who's poor attendance has been a disruption to the progress of the class. Absolutly no refunds will be given to the student regardless of being withdrawn from the show.

Make up Lessons:

If a Student misses a class it is their responsibility to make up the missed lessons. You can check at the studio to see when would be an appropriate class to make up a missed class.

Recital:

Most classes do 2 routines in the recital with the exception of preschool classes and the Tap/Ballet/Jazz combo class...these clases all do three routines in the show. Pointe classes depend on the year, whether or not they do any aditional routines outside of normal ballet routines. We hold an annual recital which will take place late in May at Procters Theater.

Costumes:

Students are required to purchase costumes for our annual recital.

We ask that all dance students have a $100 deposit per class and acrobatic students $50 - put down on thier costume accounts by December 1st. This payment can be expected at any point prior to December 1st. Please make checks payable to DDS or Dygon Dance Supplies. As of January 1st, any student who does not have a deposit of $100 per class will not be measured or considered for the recital preformance. Please note that this goes into an escrow account so we have money to work with to order costumes in a timely manner. Your costumes may cost more or less than this per class. You will either be billed the difference or recieve a refund check no later than May. Dance classes generally receive two costumes per class with the exception of all preschool and Tap/Ballet/Jazz combo classes who usually require 3 costumes. (These classes may want to budget $120 for costumes) . Pointe classes would only require one costume and usually it is from thier accompanying ballet classes.

Student Pick Up:

No students will be allowed to wait outside or walk out to the parking lot unattended. Please understand this is for your child's safety.

This year our schedule has allowed a 15 minute gap between one class ending and another starting. Therefore, we ask that you be prompt when with picking up your children. please note note that many time there will be classes going on in both studios. Are waiting area is ver limited to just a row of chairs and if you choose to wait we ask that you do so quitly if a class is in session in that area. Cell Phone's must be turned of when the class is in session in that area. Anyone Who chooses to talk in that area while a class is going on will be asked to step outside so not to disrupt a class in session. Young childern who are in the waiting area must never be left unitended and are not able to bother a class in session.

Water:

Water bottles are the only form of beverage allowed in the studio and absolutely no food, gum or candy is permitted. We do sell bottled water at the studio for those students that prefer to buy it here and w also have a sink in the studio to fill your own water bottle.

Class Attire:

Combination class of Tap Ballet and Jazz; Preschool class; Tap and Ballet-P:
These students will need both black tap shoes and white ballet slippers as well as a leotard and tights. They are welcome to wear dance sweaters, ballet skirts and leg warmers as well. We recommend a dance bag with their name on it as well as putting their names in their shoes.

Ballet and Pointe:
I request that all students wear a low-back leotard and tights. Ballet skirts and sweaters are welcome along with ballet knit pants and leg warmers. Students need pink ballet slippers. Their hair must be put into a bun. Students that continue to come to class without the proper clothes or their hair pulled back will not be allowed to take class. If you dress like a dancer you will feel like a dancer and dance like a dancer.

Jazz:
Jazz students are required to have tan jazz shoes or lyrical sandals when appropriate for performance. For class, we do allow Jazz sneakers. Clothing is less strict than ballet yet dance clothes are required. Acceptable examples are: leotards, sports bras, spandex shirts, spandex shorts and dance pants that are not dangerously long. Regular shorts without a leotard are not acceptable because they are too revealing. Jeans and regular pants are never acceptable. The hair should be pulled back as well.

Acrobatics:
These students must wear a leotard or spandex top with spandex shorts. Pants and T-shirts are not allowed in class after warrm up. We are now recommending acrobatic shoes as opposed to bare feet. Weather providing, sneakers are required for classes held outside. Post earrings are the only form of jewelry. Bracelets and necklaces are not allowed for obvious safety reasons. Hair must be pulled back tightly for safety reasons. Students that continue to come to class without the proper clothes or their hair pulled back will not be allowed to take class.

Tap/Clogging:
Attire is much more laid back in tap class. Loose clothing is acceptable but still no jeans. Once again please keep hair pulled back. Black tap shoes are used and we allow tap sneakers in class only but they are not always suitable for the stage.
